Intro
The story takes place in ancient Rome. The tribune Messala returns to his hometown and remeets his childhood friend Judah Ben-Hur. The Ben-Hur family is a rich and powerful jewish family, which enjoys a high status among the Jews. In order to control the Jews and make them subject to the rule of the ancient Roman Empire, Messala wants Ben-Hur to help him. But Ben-Hur refuses to betray his nation, so the two friends breaks up. Subsequently, Messala makes an excuse to convict the Ben-Hur family of treason. Ben-Hur himself is sold as a slave on a warship and therefore losts information about his family. Once by chance, Ben-Hur establishes the military achievement and is received by the emperor of ancient Rome. Then he returns to his hometown and begins his journey of revenge!
