Intro
Rudy and his family are both American football fanatics and loyalists of the Notre Dame team. Rudy, who wants to go to the University of Notre Dame after graduating from high school, drops out because of poor grades and goes to work in a steel plant. On his 22nd birthday, his best friend gives him a jacket with the logo of Notre Dame team printed on it, and encourages him to realize his dream. Devastated by the accidental death of his friend at the steel plant, Rudy leaves his girlfriend, who has talked about marriage with him, and gets on the train to the University of Notre Dame. After entering the university, he studyies and practices very hard. With his indomitable fighting spirit, he is selected by the coach to enter into the substitute camp of the school team, but he never has a chance to play. Finally he comes off the bench at the crucial moment of an important game, and helps the team win the game. Parents and other family members there are also thrilled.
