Intro
This film is based on a true story, which is the most flawed bank robbery case in American history. A bank robbery that should have taken within 10 minutes turns into a 12-hour see-saw game. And Sonny can be seen as the worst bank robber in American history. One midsummer afternoon, Sonny and his companion Salvatore break into the Brooklyn Bank in New York City, intending to rob it. Unexpectedly, the bank has just completed the transaction and there is no cash in the vault. The hapless Sonny and Salvatore have no choice but turn to take hostages and confront the police and make demands. But 4 hours later, the crowd of onlookers and the police in a hurry make the scene of the robbery look like an amusement park. Sonny walks out of the bank and queries the police, which unexpectedly wins the applause of the crowd. 8 hours later, the bank robbery is broadcasted lively on television, and everyone is as happy as if they are making a film. As night falls, the hostages develop Stockholm syndrome. So, how exactly will this farce end?
