Intro
In 1965, Don Haskins, a high school girls basketball coach, receives a job offer from the Texas Western Miners. His salary is not high, the family stays in the boys' dorm and the board does not give him enough money to attract elite athletes. But because he is coaching a #1 team in the NCAA, Haskins takes the job and immediately begins an extensive search with his assistant for players targeting black players. The coach goes on to find seven talented black players with different personalities and different strengths. After experiencing a hot-blooded duel, the black and white players soon hit it off, and throw themselves into coach Haskins' harsh training. The player's occasional violations and the difference between their ideas about basketball have allowed coach and players to grow up gradually... It's finally time for the season to start, Texas Western Miners triumphs all the way. In the face of violent threats from racists and the contempt of part of the public opinion, coach Haskins decides to rush to the top of the path to glory with his black players...
