Intro
A young captain Edmond Dantès prepares to marry with his beloved fiancee Mercédès Mondego. However, he is framed and locked up for life in the most heavily fortified prison on an isolated island because the deputy captain Fernand has been jealous of all what he has all the time. Soon, Mercédès falls into the bosom of Fernand. During the 13-year prison life, Edmond gets to know a wise cellmate in prison. Under his guidance, Edmond makes a detailed escape plan, and obtains a map with a huge treasure. Finally, one dark and windy night, Edmond manages to escape from prison at the risk of death. Having found the treasure, Edmond uses the money to buy himself a title of count, called the count of Monte Cristo. Having changed his name, Edmond sets out on his revenge road.
