Intro

Vietnam is a French colony in 1929. Jane is a 15-year-old French girl who goes to Saigon Girls' boarding school and goes home every holiday. Jane's mother runs a small school, but her income is very small. She has two older brothers. Brother Bill is a drug addict and a bully, and brother Paul is a coward by nature, often bullied by brother Bill.

One day, Jane says goodbye to her mother and takes the ferry back to school as usual. On the ferry, she meets Tony, a rich young man in a big black limousine.
