Intro
In a small town in the south of Italy, Toto, a quirky little boy, likes to watch movies, but prefers watching Alfredo show the film. Soon, he and Alfredo become old friends, and he finds the joy of childhood in the film. One day, the kind-hearted Alfredo makes a film in the open air so that more people could see it, but the film catches fire. Toto saves Alfredo from the fire, but Alfredo is blind. In that case, Toto becomes the only person in this town who could show movies, and he succeeds Alfredo as the town's film projectionist. As Toto grows up, he falls in love with Elena, a banker's daughter. The pure and sincere feeling of first love is as beautiful as the heaven, but the solemn pledge of love of this pair of small sweethearts is cut off by Elena's father. Toto does his military service, and Elena goes to college. The sad Toto leaves the town to pursue his dream in life with the encouragement of Alfredo... 30 years later, when Alfredo dies, Toto has already been a successful director. He returns to his hometown, sees the broken Cinema Paradiso, reminiscing and sighing. Toto unexpectedly meets Elena, all the past comes out in the wash, how do they face each other?
