Intro
In the Battle of Stalingrad, Vasily Zaitsev is a well-known sharpshooter throughout the army. His good marksmanship shoots with unfailing accuracy, making the enemy afraid at the sight. In order to give a boost to the morale of the army and set an example, Vasily's comrade-in-arms Commissar Danilov, an officer of the propaganda department in the Soviet Army, publishes Vasily's heroic deeds in the newspapers, making Vasily's image even bigger. However, the appearance of Tania Chernova makes both Vasily and Danilov be infatuated with this brave female soldier at the same time. But Tania likes Vasily, which makes Danilov jealous. On the other hand, the German army sends their sniper Erwin König, letting him, who is also a sharpshooter, contend against Vasily. On the smoky battlefield, Vasily and König begin to fight a battle with wits and courage.
